  1. About the firsts four lunar II (mouse, ox, tiger and rabbit) silver coins now there are no in high relief version, is there the aim to complete the series?

    Thanks You very much

  2. Are the new Silver Koalas of 2014 still comming in year 2013?

    • Hi Norbert

The 2014 Australian Koala Silver Bullion Coin Series has been delayed for a short while and is now scheduled for launch on 20 November 2013. Keep an eye on our bullion website.

  3. Please allow another question regarding Koala Silver coin:
Can we still wait for an 1Oz carded bullion coin for 2013 and will the series be continued in 2014 and furthermore?
In 2013 Perth Mint have issued “only” the 1Oz coloured silver coin carded but not the bullion version as raised in 2007 until 2012.
Please keep alive this wonderful carded coin series and also the issuing of the carded Koala Silver coin on special events!

    Thank you!

    • Hi Norbert

We received strong feedback about this product last year – hence our decision to replace it with a coloured coin. This was a difficult decision knowing that some customers, like yourself, would be disappointed. We understand you are saddened by its removal from our annual line up of releases but we are continuing with the coloured version from now on.

      Regards

        • Hi Norbert

Thank you for drawing our attention to these images. It is most gratifying for everyone involved at the Mint to see such interest in our Australian coins over there in Germany.

Thanks also for your questions and the great conversations we have enjoyed on the blog in 2014 – long may they continue!

          Kind regards

          • Hi Blog Team,

I want to thank the whole Blog Team for the great cooperation during the past month!!
In Germany as in other parts of the world there is a great interest for your Koala bullion and numismatic coins.
And we Koala coin collectors (I am sure the Koka collectors too) love tradition in your issues as you proved for a long time. And we dislike the break of thoses traditions.
Of course there is a need for a change from time to time but this change should always ask for the interest of the collecting (and paying) party. That is what we (collectors here) have missed.

I am also confident that we are continuing the interesting conversation in our main theme the Koala Silver coins in future.
It would be nice if you considering that the carded bullion coins could be a part of it as in the past. 😉

Have a great time meanwhile and I wish the team already Merry Christmas as well as a Happy New Year!

            Kind regards,
            Norbert

          • Hi Norbert

It is always a pleasure to help dedicated collectors such as yourself wherever possible.

The Mint understands your sentiments about ‘tradition’ and thanks you for making your point with such passion.

We too are looking forward to continuing our discussions in future and wish you compliments of the season and a prosperous New Year.

            Best wishes

            Blog Team

  4. Thank you for the detailed response on the carded Silver Koala Coin.
I am dissappointed but that is life.
Please publish the mintage figures on a regular basis of both Koala Gold Mini and Coloured Silver Coin. It is importand to keep coin collectors informed.
Will the carded Mini Koala Gold (0.5 gramms) be issued as a new series and therefore continued in 2014? Or will it be a flash in the pan?

    Kind Regards

    • Hi Norbert

Once the Mini Koala and Coloured Koala complete their selling period in 2014 the mintage will be declared within the following 12 months.

The Mini Koala coin series will continue into 2014.

      Regards

  5. @ Blog team:
Thank you for the satisfying reply.

Will be the Mini Silver Koala Coin (1/10oz) with presentation card continued in 2014 and furthermore? If so it would be the last carded bullion coin remaining.

    • Yes the Australian Koala 1/10oz coin in card will continue with the release of the 2014 coin in January.

      Regards

  6. Hello Blog Team,

I don´t know where else I can ask and send you the following about the numismatic Koala issues and I really appreciate your cooperation in the past:

    1) In your files about the Koala numsimatic Mintages of year 2012 is an error about the decription of the 5 Oz Silver Koala Proof. You describe that coin as High Relief , but it is a normal Proof coin. http://www.perthmint.com.au/numismatic-mintages.aspx (see 2012). In year 2013 it was issued as High Relief first.

    2) In the 2012 listing is the final mintage of the 2012 Outback Set (Koala, Kangaroo and Kookaburra – coloured) missing. Can you give me the figures in advance and add it to your files at next update please.

    Kind regards

    • Hi Norbert

Thank you for your note. The team that looks after mintage reports has informed me that the next update will tidy up the points you have raised. In the meantime, we can tell you unofficially that sales of the 2012 Outback Set have reached 3,639.

      Kind regards

      Blog Team

  7. Hi,

May I ask you another question about the recently finished mintage of the Silber Koalas 2013?
Have you got preliminary mintage figures of the bullion coins already?

    Kind regards,
    Norbert

    • Hi Norbert

Mintage figures for the 2013 Australian Koala Silver Bullion Coin Series will be announced in the New Year. The update will be announced on our bullion blog, which you may wish to follow.

      Kind regards

      Blog Team

  8. Hi Blog Team,

Possibly this is a question for Stephen Ward. I was reading some older blog entries of him from 2012. But to place there a question seems not to be a good idea….would you find it?
Here´s my question: I became aware that you have issued at least in 2012 a Koala 1 oz Silver Coin as a “2012 Silver Koala Baby Coin Pack”.
It is now shown as not available on your sites: http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalogue/2012-silver-koala-baby-coin-pack.aspx
Please let me know how many have been issued in that special pack and have there been previous issues(please report figures) and will there be later ones?
Migth there be a German dealer who has ordered some? I am keen in getting one. Any hints are welcome. 😉

    Kind regrads,
    Norbert

    • Hi Norbert

We issued 296 2012 Australian Koalas 1oz silver bullion coins in Baby Packs.

Koala Baby Packs were issued previously in

      2007 – 353
      2008 – 273
      2009 – 407
      2010 – 205
      2011 – 448

There are no plans to issue the 1oz Koala silver bullion coin in Baby Packs in future.

It is difficult to know whether the 2012 Baby Pack is still available in Germany, but you could try contacting Silber-Corner.

      • Thank you for these informations!

Is it true that the 2011 issue habe been released officially by Perth Mint with both coins the 1 oz 2011 Silver Koala and the 2011 with Privy?

        Best regards,
        Norbert

        • Hi Norbert

Correct – a 1oz Koala silver bullion coins with a Berlin Bear privy mark was released in both 2011 and 2012. Each coin had a limited mintage of 50,000.

          Kind regards

          Blog Team

          • Hi,

you misunderstood my question with privy mark onthe Silver Koala Coin.
I know a dealer who has got a Baby Pack with a 2011 Silver Koala Coin with Privy Mark. And as far as I know only CID in UK did sell these Coins with privy mark. Did you issue a Koala Baby Pack 2011 with a 1 Oz Silver coin with Privy Mark?

            Kind regards,
            Norbert

          • Sorry Norbert to have misunderstood. No, we didn’t issue a 2011 1oz Koala with privy in a Baby Pack. It might be that a dealer has packaged the coin in this way?

            Regards

            Blog Team

      • Thank you for your valuable informations.

Can you provide me with the issues figures for the 1 Oz Kookaburras Silver coins which have been issued at least for 2012 and maybe other years as well?
