In ancient Greek mythology, Hera was the wife of Zeus and Goddess of women and marriage. In tribute to Hera, The Perth Mint has issued a rimless, high relief, antiqued coin made from 2oz of 99.9% pure silver.

This clip offers insights into the the processes used to strike, clip and apply the special antique finish to each coin in the mintage of just 2,000. Individually applied by hand, antiquing adds deep tone with a unique grained effect on the surface of each coin for an aged appearance.

  1. Hi
This coin is released today..why is it already sold out on day one, very disappointed. How did all these customers buy on day one?

    • Hi Sandra

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed. Hera proved very popular and with a limited mintage of just 2,000 the coins didn’t last long. To explain a little more, The Perth Mint distributes all its release via the website, our catalogue, our on-site shop and authorised coin dealers both nationally and internationally. Each one of these channels was allocated a small number of coins from the mintage – explaining why the number available via the web quickly ran down.

      Hope this helps

      • Is the COA really numbered? Mine is not. Can you check?

        • Hi Samuel

The coin number should be located on the back panel of the Certificate of Authenticity under the technical specifications table on the left hand side.

          Kind regards
