The Australian Stock Horse has been a runaway success with the first two issues ‘sold out’. In 2015, the third release portrays this iconic working animal leaping a gate.
The history of the Australian Stock Horse dates back to the arrival of Australia’s first horses with the First Fleet. Although they were initially used for stock and exploration work by the early settlers, more than 120,000 Australian Stock Horses served in the First World War. Their strength, stamina and courage earned them international recognition as the finest cavalry mounts in the world, and established their place in Australian history and folklore.
Struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver and issued as Australian legal tender, just 1,000 of these outstanding 2015 coins will be released in bush-themed packaging from a total worldwide mintage of 10,000.
