It’s time to say goodbye to the current Australian Map Shaped Series.
This month’s Dingo release is the tenth and final coin to portray one of Australia’s most famous animals.
Demonstrating The Perth Mint’s innovative coining techniques, the unique shape of these superbly illustrated coins immediately caught the eye of collectors.
The first four coins – Kookaburra, Emu, Kangaroo, and Platypus – are sold out, with some later issues now very close to sell out.
The final coin portrays Australia’s iconic wild dog, which is believed to have arrived in Australia about 5,000 years ago from Asia.
The design portrays a dingo standing in front of a rocky outcrop featuring the rich red colours of the Australian outback.
Like each preceding release in the Map Shaped Series, the Dingo coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver. No more than 6,000 will be issued in presentation packaging.
